Raj Carbon was established in 2002 by Mr. Sundarpandian in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu a strategic location just 7 km from one of South India's most active seaports. From the very beginning, the company's mission was clear: to deliver the highest quality coconut shell activated carbon to the world.
What set Raj Carbon apart from day one was vertical integration. Through sister company Raj Carbon Charcoal Industry, Raj Carbon controls its own raw material supply coconut shell charcoal ensuring quality and supply security that competitors simply cannot match.
Today, under the leadership of Managing Director Mr. S. Maniraj, Raj Carbon operates a 10-acre facility with 12 rotary kilns, an in-house ASTM-certified laboratory, and a dedicated acid wash facility. Our annual capacity stands at 50,000 metric tons, and we serve 153+ clients in over 40 countries.

We Make Our Own Raw Material
Unlike most manufacturers, we control every step from coconut shell collection to finished activated carbon.
Step 1: Shell Collection
Raw coconut shells are sourced from coastal Tamil Nadu farms and collection centres a sustainable, locally-sourced raw material.
Step 2: Charcoal Production
At Raj Carbon Charcoal Industry, shells are carbonised in controlled-atmosphere kilns to produce premium-grade coconut shell charcoal.
Step 3: Steam Activation
Charcoal is activated via high-pressure steam in our 12 rotary kilns at Raj Carbon, producing GAC and PAC grades.
